About H1N1

2009 H1N1 viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get infected with H1N1 virus from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

Spread of H1N1 virus is thought to occur in the same way that seasonal flu does, Viruses are transmitted mainly through droplets（小滴）from coughing or sneezing of an infected person. A study into character, intelligence and usefulness shows dogs are better pets than cats—but only by a whisker.

Staff at New Scientist magazine first listed the areas where cats fared better. These included having bigger brains—compared to their body size. BELIEVE it or not, the color of the tie Barack Obama wears to the inauguration（就职典礼） is now a hotly debated topic. Kiribati covers a massive 3.5 million square kilometers stretch of the Pacific Ocean, but in population terms it is one of the smallest countries in the world, with only 100,000 people. More than half of them live in the capital Tarawa—strip of coral which measures just 450 meters at its widest point.     Love and fear are opposite emotional attitudes that shape our life in very different ways. The psychoanalyst John McMurray describes the difference like this:

Develop appreciation

Appreciation makes us feel happier. If you remember to be grateful for the blessings of your life, you start to feel more connected to yourself and others. When you let go of worries and embrace gratitude instead, love springs up.

Test your fear’s reality

Sometimes fear can be like a cloud that keeps out the sunlight. Then everything feels huge and oppressive. It’s like living in a shadow-land, peering into the future and expecting bad things to happen. A simple way to deal with fear is to test its reality. Write down three things that you are afraid of. Then look at each point and ask yourself, “Is this fear really grounded in reality?” I know that when I do this, I often find that my fears are unfounded.

Take action

Fear is often born out of inaction(懒散). For example, if you get a sense that you are unfit, but you don’t check it out with a doctor, you may start to imagine that you are heading for a major health crisis. Once you’ve been to a doctor and reviewed the problems, the steps towards renewed health may seem much more manageable.

Develop friendships

Good friends are important because they teach us to love. It‘s often much easier to love a good friend than it is to love and forgive our partner. Friends are lasting companions in life. It’s good to talk with them when we feel afraid. They can give us a fresh perspective on what is troubling us.

Practise kindness

Kindness is ‘love-in-action’. It’s good to make a habit of it. The trick is to notice what people need. Here is an example: yesterday I was talking to a stall-holder at a farmers’market. He saw that I was carrying a bag of fresh corncobs. He said, “Oh, they look nice!” Then he sighed, “Oh well, by the time I’ve finished selling at my stand they’ll have all gone.” I offered to get some for him. It was a small action but it made us both feel good. Try and spot one occasion each day when you can be of help.

If you follow these 5 tips, you’ll move towards more love and less fear in your life. Soon you will notice an rise of happiness and contentment, instead of fear and anxiety.

As we all know, honesty is always an essential principle of living. Much to our regret, however, it is nothing new that some middle school students cheat in exams, copy others’ homework and fool their teachers and parents. Therefore, how to guarantee honesty should come to our attention.

Personally, I think honesty education is necessary. For instance, courses on honesty can be offered to students; activities like story-telling and lectures are also worthy trying. With the concept of “being honest” rooted in their minds, honesty can be reflected in their daily life and study.

Besides, related rules and regulations should be laid down. Detailed criteria should be applied to evaluate students in aspects such as homework, tests, relationship with teachers and parents.
